Schacht's Spinning Wheels are very responsive and finely tuned. I find spinning on a Schacht is like driving an expensive race car. The family van will get you to where you want to go, but the race car is a precision machine and will get you to your destination much quicker and smoother. All wheels can spin yarn, but the effortless treadling and incremental adjustments of the flyer whorls on a Schacht, provide more accuracy and speed when spinning.
The Schacht Matchless Wheel offers double drive or Scotch tension modes of operation. The Matchless comes with two flyer whorls; Medium Speed with drive ratios of 9:1 & 11:1 and Fast Speed with ratios of 13:1 & 15.5:1.
Also included with each Schacht Matchless Spinning Wheel are: a carrying strap, two drive bands, a threading hook, a lazy Kate, and four bobbins.
*A recommendation to Beginning Spinners*
You will find the medium and fast speed flyer whorls to be very fast for learning on. The Slow Speed and/or the Extra Slow Speed Flyer whorls will slow the wheel down to match the drafting speed (your hand movements) of a beginning spinner.
